Safe Air. Trusted Protection.

Fume Hoods

Safe Containment. Engineered Airflow. Reliable Performance.

Fume hoods are the primary containment devices used in laboratories to protect personnel from hazardous fumes, vapors, gases, aerosols, and chemical particulates generated during laboratory operations. By maintaining controlled airflow and safe containment, fume hoods prevent contaminants from entering the laboratory environment and ensure operator safety. Labvent Systems designs and manufactures high-performance fume hoods engineered for superior containment, optimal airflow, and long-term reliability. Our systems are designed in accordance with established laboratory ventilation principles and can be integrated with exhaust blowers, scrubbers, ducting systems, and building HVAC infrastructure.

Types of Fume Hoods

Bench-Top Ducted Fume Hood

The most widely used laboratory fume hood for handling chemicals, solvents, acids, and hazardous vapors. Contaminated air is captured and exhausted safely through a dedicated ducting and exhaust system.

Walk-In Fume Hood

Designed for large equipment, pilot-scale processes, reactors, and floor-mounted apparatus requiring enhanced working space and containment.

Ductless Fume Hood

Utilizes advanced filtration systems to remove contaminants before recirculating air back into the laboratory. Suitable for selected low-hazard applications where chemical compatibility is verified.

Perchloric Acid Fume Hood

Specially engineered for handling perchloric acid and other strong oxidizers. Features corrosion-resistant construction and wash-down systems to prevent hazardous deposit accumulation.

Radioisotope Fume Hood

Designed for laboratories handling radioactive materials, incorporating specialized containment features and easy-to-decontaminate surfaces.

Airflow Control Options

CAV (Constant Air Volume) Fume Hood

Maintains a constant exhaust airflow regardless of sash position. A proven and cost-effective solution for general laboratory applications.

VAV (Variable Air Volume) Fume Hood

Automatically adjusts exhaust airflow based on sash position while maintaining safe face velocity. VAV systems improve energy efficiency, reduce HVAC operating costs, and provide superior environmental control.
